Poetry Reflections & Writings

These poems are reflections on people, places and experiences gathered over a lifetime.
Some come from memories, some from work and travel, and others from the small moments that make us stop and think.
They are not intended to offer answers so much as to record thoughts, questions, humour, loss, faith and the simple pleasures that stay with us.
About The Author

About the author
Peter Hanlon spent 50 years working across Probation, Prisons, Courts and Child
Protection, encountering a wide range of people, circumstances and challenges. His
work included a month-long tour of prisons in Pakistan.
He has travelled widely, including the Philippines, Singapore, the deserts of Oman, the Canadian Rockies, the Caribbean and much of Europe. He has long enjoyed writing short stories on Quora and now also plays and sings with a local music group at community events.
Peter enjoys his work as a Borough Councillor, has hosted two refugees, and spends
much of his spare time walking with his dog, Gibson.
Dedication
With thanks to my friends Colin and the two Brians, whose support has always been there when needed.
To Steve G, for his help editing the poems, and Steve E, my fellow councillor and colleague.
And to Angeleena, Maureen and Guy, for their encouragement along the way.
